The Distributed Extreme Environment Drive System (DEEDS)
Motiv Space Systems’ DEEDS is a space-rated motion control system designed for extreme thermal conditions in lunar and deep-space exploration. Funded by NASA’s SBIR program, it enables long-term operation of rovers, robotics, and ISRU equipment with cryogenic-compatible electronics that reduce power and mass needs. Incorporating Bulk Metallic Glass (BMG) for enhanced durability, DEEDS offers a scalable, high-performance solution for Artemis and future deep-space missions.
